he runs, he climbs, he laughs

In six weeks or less Landon will be two. There is so much of me that wants him to stay my little baby forever. Then I see how proud he gets when he does something a "big" kid would do and it makes it ok that he is growing up, but only a little bit.

A few months ago (probably my last blog post *sigh*) we went to park and Landon walked very slowly on the mulch with a lot of coaxing. Tonight, a whole new kid. He RAN to the playground and immediately started up the steps to the slide. It was amazing! I couldn't believe it was the same person.

This time he wanted nothing to do with swing. No sir! The swing is boring in comparison to running around and climbing on things. He is definitely ALL boy.

I love this little guy.

Side note - if you want a good hug you need to see this little guy. He holds on so tight he will take your breath away.

Here are some of my favorite photos -

family vacation and a few other things

Our vacation has FINALLY arrived! I am so excited to get the show on the road. A full week of fun with friends and family. What more could a girl ask for?

NOTHING!

I promise to update this blog with photos daily! I am going to do it this time.

Before we go I wanted to share a few Landon stories.

I am afraid that I don't visit this blog often enough. I know it is the same old song and dance but it does bother me that I am not keeping better track of his shenanigans in writing.

Story One:

This is more for records sake than telling all of you because most of you have witnessed this cuteness.

So Landon - you do this cute little move (have been for months) where you pull your arms into your chest, scrunch up your adorable little face, and tremble. It is CAAAUUTE! For the most part you will do it on command. My mission this weekend is to get it on VIDEO!

Story Two:

Landon is OBSESSED with Cailou! If the TV is on and Cailou is not - we have a problem. He will immediately grab the remote control and try to "fix" the television.

Story Three:

Landon now holds up his pointer finger anytime he needs to intergect into a conversation as to say "excuse me" or possibly "shut up" and when he says "no".

Story Four:

Landon is also obessed with planes and birds. Loves them!

Story Five:

Landon is the official dog walker for Savannah. We are not allowed to hold the leash anymore. So independent.

Story Six:

Words and phrases are flowing like a faucet! I am amazed everyday at what he is putting together. I will write a separate post with all of his sayings. Promise!

The last few were tidbits really and I probably have a lot more because let's be honest my kid is amazing! I however have a trillion things to do before we go on vacation.

I love you all and you will hear from soon, possibly even tomorrow!

landon's clubhouse: no dogs allowed!

landon has been hiding out in savannah's cage for awhile now. i am surprised i haven't posted it before (or have i)? lately however he has been taking it to another level.

before it was pretty casual. you know, just climbing in and out because it was new. now we are having a party! he has now been bringing his juice and snacks into the cage with him.

he grabs his snacks, tells us bye, and sits in there for a good ten minutes or so watching tv and talking to his friends???

it irritates savannah to no end but i think it is adorable.

mother's day

i really hope everyone had a great mother's day.

my day consisted of sleeping in, manning the dvr for three hours, folding a little bit of laundry, taking a nap, not touching a single dirty diaper, and getting the best of this little guy all day!

it was perfect!

thank you adam and landon for making me feel so special and loved everyday!

Landon's Growth Chart

As you know, I have been running another blog lately called "Literally Inspired". I am hoping to one day transform it into a business but for now I am having fun sharing my thoughts on books and a little crafting in between.

I will be doing a full post on this project later today or tomorrow on that blog but I wanted to give y'all a sneak peek on the finished project.

I have been working on this for a couple of weeks now. It took a lot longer than I had hoped but I really love the way it turned out. It is far from perfect but basically how I envisioned it. The growth chart is a great starting point for finally decorating Landon's room.

So what do you think?

Hi Strangers!

Hello, anyone out there?

This poor neglected blog.

I really feel awful about not keeping up with what we have been doing.

It has been hard to balance everything lately. We have been so busy coming and going and doing new things.

Landon - if you ever read this, mommy is very sorry. I will be sure to remind you what happened during the months of March and April of 2011.

I will tell y'all that we have started to gear up for summer in our house.

Last week we went and got our pool passes. I can't begin to explain how thrilled I am now that I have an official pass that allows me to be seen in public wearing a bathing suit. It has my photo on it and everything! Every over-weight mother's dream come true!

In three weeks we will be going to the beach with awesome friends!

And we just ordered our patio furniture (finally!) I am looking forward to eating dinner outside for a change.

There has been so much going on lately - I will try to fill all of y'all in this week. I can't wait to tell you all the funny things Mr. Landon has learned, talk a little about our Easter Sunday, and everything else in between.

Have a great rest of the day!

shooting some hoops!

Now that we are getting to warmer weather we have relocated the basketball hoop outside.

Landon absolutely loves playing outside these days and having a ball to throw and kick around is definitely one of his favorite things to do.

Here are few photos that I took a few weeks ago.

where's the ball?

"i wonder if i will get in trouble for opening this door"

homemade bubbles

Every once and awhile I get a little domestic and crafty. Last weekend I made Landon some homemade bubbles. I haven't figured out if this method is actually cheaper than just buying a bottle at the dollar store. I have a feeling that it is. I paid $5.00 for the glycerin and the other ingredients are just dish soap and water. You only need a little bit of glycerin for the recipe so it will last a long time.

We didn't have any bubble wands on hand so we made do with cooking utensils. Thanks to my neighbor for that idea!

Landon had a blast shaking the spatula and watching the bubbles go everywhere. He also enjoyed dumping all the bubbles out.

It was a fun and thrifty Sunday afternoon activity.

Super Savannah & Super Landon

to the RESCUE!

In case you missed my post about Landon's Super Hero Cape here. I thought I would post a few pictures of him playing around outside.

I think he looks more like a magician since it is so long but whatever! He loves it and that is all that matters to me!

Landon's Room

I have finally painted Landon's room!

He is almost two so I figured it was high time that I gave him a decent looking room of his own.

I have yet to decorate the walls and I still want to experiment with the placement of the furniture but I am so excited that it is painted! Bye bye booger stained wall (yes he wipes his boogers on the wall - he is awesome)!

Before:

one monkey rug - the full extent of my "nursery" decorating

After: It is a lovely beige color "toasted almond"

Sorry I only have one angle of the the "after" right now. As I add to the room I will take more. You can at least see what the color looks like here. It's so daring and bold, haha.

Oh Snap!

I decided awhile ago that I wanted to stop posting videos on the blog because if I were to get my blog printed they wouldn't show up.

This video (in my opinion) is too good not to post.

This video is of my son "snapping" and dancing in the tub.

In this video you will learn:

a. How much I love my son. Someone as tone deaf as me would not post a video of them singing.
b. My son is hilarious!
c. I will NOT be trying out for American Idol.

I hope you laughed as much as I did!

Trouble with Thomas

What is the deal with little boys and trains?

Landon at one point was so obsessed with his Thomas the Train set that we had to it away for awhile. It was getting in the way of him socializing with the family and playing with his other toys and I didn't like that very much. Thomas was the only toy that he wanted to play with and he wanted to play with it all the time!

I will admit that I loved seeing his excitement as he watched the little trains go on the track. He even learned how to fix the tracks when Thomas got stuck.

I have collected a few pictures from earlier in the year to prove my point.

This was "primo" seating for Thomas watching

Sitting Beside Thomas - without pants?

Watching Thomas
Holding Thomas

Does your child have an attachment to any particular toy? How did you handle the new obsession?
