Dancing Machine

Landon has always enjoyed music and grooving to the beat but today at lunch he was really getting down to the Bieber and Ke$ha. He has really perfected his Harlem Shake. I am hoping tonight that we can get a video of him dancing continually. He was basically dancing in between bites. It was so cute and he isn't that bad if I say so myself. He obviously gets his rhythm from me.

Trip to the North Pole

Seeing that we only have a week before Christmas we decided it is high time to take a trip down to the North Pole to Santa's House. It really was an experience. When we arrived to Santa's house we walked into his living room and listened to Santa tell us the story and meaning of Christmas. He also told us the story about the Night Before Christmas. Landon and all of the other children listened with wonder.

We eventually made our way to Santa's sleigh room. Since we were only wanting a picture we were able to skip ahead of everyone and sneak in for our photo. This Santa is the real deal. He spends so much time with each child. He instructs them to write down three things that they would like for Christmas then he gives them ribbon for each package and instructs them to place it under the tree on Christmas Eve so that he can wrap their present in it. If that doesn't make you believe in him then I don't know what will. I am looking forward to going back next year and having Landon actually talk to him.

Waiting for his turn with Santa.

Finally it was Landon's turn. Classic!

Concentrate

In order to fully concentrate on the task at hand you MUST stick your tongue out. In this situation we are DESPERATELY trying to remove the cap on a diet coke.

Just the Way You Are

When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change.
You're Amazing
Just the Way You Are!

And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause you're Amazing
Just the Way You Are!

16 Months Old

It's hard to believe that Landon is almost a year and a half. It seems like just yesterday I was holding a little 7 pound baby in my arms. It amazes me how much he has changed and learned in a year. I never realized before having a child how much can happen in a year.

Landon's Stats:
At 16 months Landon is weighing in at 21 pounds and is 30 inches tall.

Landon is the most amazing 1 year old out there and it isn't because he is my son. He truly is amazing. I love our little conversations and late night giggles (late as in 8:30). Landon doesn't sit still anymore. Now that he is walking or even running sometimes he is everywhere! And if he isn't walking around he is climbing up the stairs or on the furniture. It is hard to believe that 6 weeks ago he wanted nothing to do with walking independently and now look at him! Amazing, right? I told you.

The past month we have been working on a few more tricks that we are trying to perfect.

- Learning the different parts of our body. We pretty much have the face down (nose, ears, mouth, eyes). Now we need to learn everything else.
- Eating with a spoon and fork. If we can just realize that you can't flip the spoon over while there is food on it then we will be good to go.

I have also noticed that Landon is acting more and more like a little boy verses a baby. The past few weeks he has been making random grunting noises. He isn't in pain or anything so I am not really sure why he does it. I am trying to figure out if it is a toddler thing, a boy thing, or just a Landon thing. It really is funny to watch and hear.

Fear

FEAR

1. a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.
2. a specific instance of or propensity for such a feeling: an abnormal fear of heights.
3. concern or anxiety; solicitude: a fear for someone's safety.
4. reverential awe, esp. toward god.
5. that which causes a feeling of being afraid; that of which a person is afraid: Cancer is a common fear.

A boyfriend for Christmas

Savannah had a nice long talk with Santa Paws and all she REALLY wanted for Christmas was a new boyfriend. She really hasn't been the same since her last boyfriend left her. They were together for over two years and one day he just vanished like yesterday's trash. I guess Santa thought she was a good little doggie this year because he delivered her present early this year.

It looks like Puppy Love to me.

Bedtime Routine

Like most families with small children we have developed a bedtime routine. I think the consistency helps Landon understand that when we are brushing our teeth it is almost time for bed. Recently due to the cold weather we have added an additional step to our routine - putting lotion on his cheeks. They have been getting a little chapped with the colder climate. Naturally Landon likes to help by putting some on mommy and daddy. But this is the funny part, he thinks that it is toothpaste so he mimics the noise that the "toothbrush" makes and proceeds to put a giant glob of lotion in our mouth. As gross as it is to eat lotion for dinner it is really cute to see him do it and he is so proud of himself for helping brush mommy and daddy's teeth.

Tonight's Ride Home

Here is a little story for everyone. I have a few more coming up in future blogs so be on the look out.

Tonight on our ride home from daycare Landon found a pair of his old shoes in the back seat and proceeded to try and put them on. I heard him talking so at the next light I turned around to check it out and there he was with his shoe in his hands trying to get it onto his foot. He eventually gave up and decided to remove his socks instead.

Two for you, One for me!

Trying out the dog food actually took a lot longer then I thought it would. I figured as soon as he figured out how to pick things up and put them in his mouth he would have gone for the dog food but he has been really good until recently. In the past few weeks he has decided it is a lot of fun to "feed" Savannah and in the second video you will see he wanted to try it for himself.

Dear December

Dear December,

I have missed you so much! I am so glad you have finally arrived and we have 31 wonderful days to spend together. When you come around my house is full of warmth and holiday cheer. I can’t wait to see what all you have in store for us this year. I have already made plans for baking cookies, decorating the tree, Christmas parties with friends and family but I am sure you have a few surprises for us too. Cheers to you December and month of giving to others and spending time with the people we love!

Love,

The Walls Family
